The Road to Miss Kansas- The Beginning

The Beginning
I'm so excited to be going to Pratt, Kansas on June 11, 2011 to compete for the job of Miss Kansas!

My journey started when I met the wonderful Priscilla Stanley, the director of the Miss Rose Hill Scholarship pageant. When Priscilla told me that there would be a first-ever pageant in my hometown at my high school, I knew I had to compete.
After raising and donating my $100 to Children's Miracle Network, I was ready to go. I played a classical melody on flute for talent, had an amazing sustainable swimsuit made from recycled materials, and wore one of my gowns from Foggy Bottom for evening gown. I was selected as Fitness and Interview winner along with Miss Rose Hill.
I had a great time at the pageant and can't wait to represent Rose Hill at Miss Kansas!
Since then, I have been in the Rose Hill Fall and Christmas parades and I have raised money for my non-profit organization Tiaras for Tornado Safety which provides school administrators with portable NOAA Weather Radios. Starting this spring I will also be talking to local science classes about weather safety and raising more money for Children's Miracle Network!
But for now, it's day 1 of work outs, training, practicing flute, and refining my platform!
