My Four Points 2011-Part 1: STYLE

I want to share with you how the four points of the crown coincide with the highlights of my year with the Miss Rose Hill Organization and the Miss Kansas Organization.

The first point I want to share is STYLE. Style can be defined as a manner of doing something, a distinctive appearance, or an air of sophistication. Of course a beauty queen has to have all three, so I want to give a shout out to all the generous sponsors that helped me achieve my personal STYLE throughout my year as Miss Rose Hill and my trip to compete in Miss Kansas.

Foggy Bottom is my favorite store! They have been my major sponsor since 2009 and ALL of my pageant gowns have been Foggy Bottom fashions. With such a great staff, great selection of shoes and jewelry , and their ability to carry and order designer pageant gowns, they are a one-stop pageant shop! I LOVE Beth and Mike and I am truly blessed to have them as my friends and wardrobe sponsors. Thank you Foggy Bottom!! www.foggybottomdresses.com

Body Trends is a major sponsor of mine that made my success at Miss Kansas possible this year! They really helped me get that edge in swimsuit that I haven't had before. Their technologies are geared towards re-designing and enhancing your physique non–surgically, with the specific intent of getting the judges attention and keeping the focus on you. Your treatment will be customized for your specific body type, dimensions and physiques. Thank you Body Trends for all of your support!!!  www.bodytrendspa.com

Eric Frank is an amazing photographer, and as the owner and operator of EJF Studios he creates amazing art. You can see his work around Wichita, and 90% of all the pictures on this blog are from him! He graciously helped me with my headshot and my ads in the Miss Kansas program book. Thank you for all your amazing work and friendship Eric! You can book a shoot with him today at www.ejfstudios.com

Other sponsors that placed ads in the program book that I would like to thank:

Meteorologist Mike Smith   meteorologicalmusings.blogspot.com
Telecommunications Workers of America
Monique Viner
And of course, all of my family and friends :)

I would also like the thank the lady that helped me prepare for Miss Kansas and acquire my "air of sophistication", Priscilla Stanley. She worked really hard with me for months and I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU!!!

To me, STYLE is not a what, it is a who. The people that helped me achieve my goals are my STYLE and I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!

The Road to Miss Kansas- The Beginning

The Beginning
I'm so excited to be going to Pratt, Kansas on June 11, 2011 to compete for the job of Miss Kansas!

My journey started when I met the wonderful Priscilla Stanley, the director of the Miss Rose Hill Scholarship pageant. When Priscilla told me that there would be a first-ever pageant in my hometown at my high school, I knew I had to compete.
After raising and donating my $100 to Children's Miracle Network, I was ready to go. I played a classical melody on flute for talent, had an amazing sustainable swimsuit made from recycled materials, and wore one of my gowns from Foggy Bottom for evening gown. I was selected as Fitness and Interview winner along with Miss Rose Hill.
I had a great time at the pageant and can't wait to represent Rose Hill at Miss Kansas!
Since then, I have been in the Rose Hill Fall and Christmas parades and I have raised money for my non-profit organization Tiaras for Tornado Safety which provides school administrators with portable NOAA Weather Radios. Starting this spring I will also be talking to local science classes about weather safety and raising more money for Children's Miracle Network!
But for now, it's day 1 of work outs, training, practicing flute, and refining my platform!
